Chris Hinde qualified as a mining engineer (with a BSc and PhD) from the University of Wales, Cardif. He joined Anglo American Corp in South Africa, and worked for a few years at its Western Deep Levels gold mine. He subsequently worked for two consultancy companies (in South Africa with Johannesburg-based SRK, and in the UK with Maidenhead-based Golder Associates). Projects undertaken include work on a diamond mine in Botswana, and lengthy overseas assignments in Malaysia and Turkey.
Dr Hinde joined the editorial staff of Mining Journal in 1984, leaving 30 months later to join the stock broking subsidiary of Schroder Merchant Bank as a mining analyst. He rejoined Mining Journal at the end of 1987, and was later appointed to the Board of Mining Journal Ltd (subsequently renamed Mining Communications Ltd, and then Aspermont UK) as editorial director.

Dr Victor Rudenno, Principle, Revaluate Pty Limited, has over 25 years experience in stockbroking and investment banking. His strong understanding of both the equities and finance industry as well as the mining and energy sectors, an advisor to listed and private mining companies on financial modelling, restructuring, resource valuation and capital raisings. He has previously advised government and semi government agencies on resource valuations and has acted as an expert witness on mining and ASX matters.
More recently Victor has been the principal author of a number of Independent Experts Reports including the $500m takeover of Climax by Oceana and the $1bn takeover of Resource Pacific by Xstrata and has undertaken valuation reports for a number of major companies including Macarthur Coal and Rio Tinto.
He is also the principal lecturer for mining investment analysis at Kaplan/Finsia and author of the international textbook “The Mining Valuation Handbook”. |
