Ilija has been working in the oil and gas, petrochemical and mining industries for more than 10 years covering project management, business development, consulting and general management. He joined Shell Refining (Aust.) Pty Ltd in July 2005 as Projects Team Leader and was appointed to the role of Engineering Manager at Shell Geelong Refinery in 2006.
Before and during the above period Ilija also played as a professional athlete in the Australian Football League with Footscray, West Coast and Essendon.
Ilija’s current role is varied including technical hands-on, project management and general management roles. Ilija is part of the Refinery Leadership Team at Shell Geelong Refinery. |

Shaun holds a wide range of qualifications including a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental), Bachelor of Science (Checmical) and a Masters of Business Administration. |

Charlie Foxall is manager of Operations Support at Foster’s Yatala Brewery in Queensland.
His passion for safety and the environment has led him to his present position with responsibility for Health Safety and Environmental issues at the brewery. He also manages the Water Recovery Centre and regularly presents to seminars and workshops on the environment and sustainability.
Particular achievements in the environmental area have been the development and installation of the biogas system for the boilers, sitting on Council advisory committees and the instigation, development and installation of the water recycling process at Yatala. He was recently voted as one of the countries top 10 environmental leaders by WME Magazine.
Prior to joining the Brewing Industry 21 years ago he worked as a mechanical engineer in the sugar industry in North Queensland gaining experience in steam and process engineering and the operation and maintenance of waste treatment plants. |
Dave Pryor

David Pryor is the National Engineering Manager for P&N Beverages.
Graduating from the University of New South Wales with a degree in Chemical Engineering David spent the first years of his career with the consulting firm Stroud Consulting, helping manufacturing companies achieve their KPI goals. Since then he has been the Director of Engineering Services with CCL Custom Manufacturing (now KIK Custom Products).
His work has taken him to a wide variety of industries across the US, UK and Europe. He is now glad to return home to apply this experience to helping P&N achieve their goals, particularly driving their water conservation efforts Australia wide. |

David has a background in electrical engineering and commenced his career with the Dept of Navy at Garden Island in Sydney before moving to Albury with his wife and working in the contracting/construction industry. In 1982, David moved to the manufacturing industry joining the team at the new newsprint mill at Albury. David has held several senior management roles at the mill including Production, Engineering, Health & Safety, IT and Environment. He has also been involved in many strategic development roles and currently is the Norske Skog Albury Mill's Performance Manager accountable for Environment, the mill's Technical development and Operational improvement. David holds qualifications in electrical engineering and an MBA in Technology Management. At the present time David is heavily involved with the mill's water management due to the enduring drought conditions in the Murray Darling Basin and the mill's Climate Change initiatives. |

Guenter has over 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, having worked on a wide range of water, wastewater and waste projects from small to very large at all levels, from concept design to implementation, commissioning and operation.
Guenter is the Managing Director of Water Conservation Group, a company specially set up to do whatever it takes to help large water users save water. Guenter is one of Australia’s leading water conservation practitioners. He has been instrumental in developing leading edge water conservation design tools and models. He is at the forefront of designing and constructing large innovative rainwater harvesting solutions.
He has worked with Top ASX200 companies to identify their corporate water use, develop strategies how to reduce it and help them report on it. He has assisted in preparing business cases and obtaining funding for well over $3M worth of water conservation measures. Guenter holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering. |

Joe graduated from Melbourne’s RMIT with honours in Environmental Engineering. Early in his career Joe worked in the solar industry and land remediation.
Joe travelled extensively, including a year in South Korea, before working on rail construction in rural England. Joe’s work centred around ground and surface water monitoring and remediation.
Joe had a break from rail construction to install groundwater remediation systems around Scotland. The high speed rail line linking London and Paris was being constructed, and Joe returned to England to work on the London station. Joe was the Site Environmental Manager during construction of the station, with a wide variety of environmental issues to cover. The portfolio extended from water and waste management, contaminated land, environmental noise, through to heritage listed building protection and archaeological reporting on excavations.
Returning from the UK, Joe worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff on Environmental Planning Approvals and energy and water auditing.
Currently, Joe is the Environment Manager at Cadbury Schweppes’ Ringwood factory, where he works to reduce energy, water and waste.. |

Mohan is an independent consultant with 28 years experience in water management, conservation, treatment, reuse and trade waste program development. He was formerly the foundation manager of Sydney Water‘s Every Drop Counts Business Program which won the 2006 Stockholm Industry Water Award as well as the Director of Water Efficiency in the Queensland Water Commission. In 2007, Mohan published a book dedicated to water conservation for industry “A Practical Approach to Water Conservation for Commercial and Industrial Facilities”. The book is a step by step guide on how to implement water conservation and water reuse in industry. He is a regular contributor to a number of journals including Waste Management and Environment as well as Asian Water (Singapore).
Mohan has worked in Australasia, South East Asia, the Middle East and in Eastern Europe. Currently he is working on an assignment in Central Asia in one of the largest oil and gas fields in the world as well as providing consultancy to a number of councils and industries in Australia. |

Kevin Shaw is a Corporate Account Manager and the Nalco Australia/New Zealand Sustainability Specialist. Kevin joined Catoleum (an ICI/Nalco joint venture company) in 1985 as a Technical Marketing Specialist. Catoleum became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nalco company in 1991. He has held verious Technical Markting and Sales, and Sales Management positions.
Kevin is focused both on driving the sustainable development of Nalco's own activities, as well as delivering programmes and services which support the sustainable operation and development of customer processes. Kevin's specialty is applying triple bottom line measures to industrial water using processes. |

He started his career as an Analytical Chemist working for Rosella Foods then Petersville in Melbourne in the 70’s. In the early 80’s Chris moved into the Snackfood Industry working for Smiths Snackfoods (owned by Amatil), where he stayed for 17 years in Technical and operational roles until the business was sold to Frito Lay.
He has spent the last 7 years at Diageo originally in a senior technical role (including 10 months in Japan) prior to his current role of Sustainability Manager. He has won a number of internal awards within the organization for his work and the Australian Operations are highly regarded in the Global Diageo world as leading the environmental sustainability agenda .He is also the Project Leader of driving environmental Performance within Asia Pacific with a rapidly expanding business within China, India, Phillipines and South Korea. |

Robert in an AMR Consultant & Technician with tertiary qualifications in business. He has 15 years experience in the Queensland Water Industry, the last 5 dealing with metering & process control with AllFlow Supply Co. In this role he deals directly with hydraulic consultants, engineers, local government as well as the end user. Robert heads up a team of consultants and technicians designing AMR solutions to best suit the end users budget and techncial requirements.
His experience covers both hard wired and non-wired AMR systems.
Robert is a past committee member of the QLD AWA Young Water Profesionals and is an active member of the Australian Water Association.

Tony Priestley was trained as a chemical engineer, receiving his bachelor’s degree (with honours) from the University of Queensland and then a PhD from Monash University. After completing his studies in 1971, Tony worked for Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd for three years on the quality control of manufacture and processing of Kodachrome film. He then joined CSIRO where he has now worked for 34 years on various aspects of water and wastewater treatment technology. From 1995 to 2008 he was the Deputy CEO of the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Quality and Treatment. His research interests include water/energy interactions, resource recovery and the design of sustainable urban water systems. |
