Anthony Collins is General Manager of Emerging Markets at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). Anthony has, in several different roles, over 13 years experience in the development of new interest rate, equity, commodity, energy and environmental markets.

A primary focus of Anthony’s current role at ASX is the development of financial markets for carbon, water, natural gas and coal. Anthony is also responsible for developing the commodity markets operated by ASX.

Anthony has been directly engaged in climate change and emissions trading issues since managing the research & development department at the Sydney Futures Exchange when it first prepared to facilitate emissions trading in 1999.

The Macquarie group offers a diverse range of banking, financial, advisory and investment services. It is widely associated with a stream of major financial innovations, which have underpinned its reputation as a market leader.

Brian has worked in Macquarie’s economics team since 1999, and is a regular commentator on current issues. Before joining Macquarie, he was a senior economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Daniel is based in Sydney and works within JPMorgan Chase’s global Environmental Markets practice, responsible for voluntary and compliance greenhouse gas emission certificate origination, distribution and sales.

Prior to joining JPMorgan, he worked on the carbon desk with Fortune 500 energy utility Enel SpA, based in Rome, which manages one of the world’s largest and most diverse portfolios of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, covering China, India and Latin America.

He was also previously a member of the Australian states and territory governments’ National Emissions Trading Taskforce (NETT).

Elaine Prior is a Director / Senior Analyst, at Citi Investment Research in Sydney.

A key aspect of her current role is research into the tangible impacts of climate change on companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. This includes investigating the impacts of both carbon regulation and physical climate change. Elaine also works with Citi analysts in London and elsewhere on related global research projects.

She has held various roles in investment research and funds management since 1987, and was top-rated BHP analyst for several years, specialising in analysis of the global iron and steel industries and steelmaking raw materials.

She holds an MSc in petroleum engineering from Imperial College, London, and previously worked with Shell and then a consultancy, conducting technical and economic studies of petroleum reservoirs, mainly in the UK North Sea and Australia.

In 1999, she undertook a degree in Antarctic Studies in Tasmania, gaining an enhanced appreciation of climate change science, and then worked briefly on environmental studies relating to Antarctic tourism.

Ian's prime role is to the assess the management of intangible assets of companies through the environmental, social and governance (EAG) assessment of companies on the Australian stock market and in engaging with these companies in the areas of corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Ian also undertakes assessment of greenhouse gas risk issues for the wider AMP Capital Investment teams and has undertaken a number of studies in the is area.

Dr Karl Mallon has been working in climate change mitigation and adaptation issues since pre-Kyoto. His work and that of his team at Climate Risk Pty Ltd is based around establishing new ways of thinking as a bridge between climate science and practical decision making.

Karl has been a member of the CSIRO’s Energy Futures Forum and a director of the Australian Wind Energy Association. Karl’s has been involved in climate related work from the World Bank through to local councils. His recent publications include ‘Renewable Energy Policy and Politics: A Handbook for Decision Making’ published by Earthscan and ‘A High Bandwidth Low carbon Future’ published by the Telstra Corporation.

Karl is currently working with the insurance sector on climate change risk management and adaptive products.

Laura has a background in industrial chemistry, finance & investment and is completing her Masters Degree in Environmental Management.

Completed Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and finance in 1992, and has 13 years trading experience at various broking firms. Until 2003 Lisa was a Director at Citigroup London and Australia before moving to run money for a private family in Melbourne where she was responsible for portfolio management and Derivatives strategies for the fund. During her employment the fund consistently outperformed the market and she was a contributor to this outperformance.

Lisa’s Derivatives trading experience is extensive and she is a specialist Arbitrage Trader. Lisa has traded both in Australia and in London.

Lisa has over the years attained the following industry qualifications: SFE Registered Rep, US Series 7, Registered SEATS operator, Registered ASX options market maker, London International Market Maker, UK FSA Registration.

Dr Bygrave is Assistant Secretary, Coverage and Market Development in the Emissions Trading Division of the newly formed Department of Climate Change. He has held senior management positions in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Bureau of Rural Sciences, Department of the Environment, Water and Heritage and Australian Greenhouse Office.

Between 2002 and 2004 Stephen worked on international emissions trading at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris.
